The development of Kooi Security
The history of construction site surveillance
In 2010, Pieter Kooi established Kooi Security. With the development of the Unit For Observation (UFO), he replaced the expensive staffing of construction sites and industrial estates by security and surveillance using surveillance cameras and remote detection and alarm systems monitored by an advanced communications room. This technology generates considerable savings and guarantees improved quality and supervision.
One of the largest wind turbine producers in the world immediately recognised the advantages of the UFO alarm system with camera surveillance. This has ensured that, from the beginning, Kooi has been closely connected to the wind energy sector and the surveillance of wind turbines.
The number of UFOs and employees expanded quickly and Kooi Security’s alarm centre and communications room were established in January 2013. Kooi Alarm Centre was to provide customers with enhanced service, quality and personal contact.
After creating a solid base in The Netherlands, expansion abroad was a logical next step. In June 2013, the first foreign Kooi establishment was founded in Tomelilla in Sweden; Kooi Security Scandinavia AB.
Meanwhile we had outgrown the building in The Netherlands and in late 2013 Kooi Security relocated to a bigger building at the Zonnedauw 10 in Drachten. This former building of the De Nederlandsche Bank is the perfect location for Kooi Security and the Kooi Alarm Centre communications room.
Due to an increasing market and various years of successful business in Germany, the opening of a second foreign establishment, Kooi Security Deutschland GmbH in Rastede, in October 2014, was the icing on the cake.
Today our mobile surveillance systems can be found in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, France, Luxembourg, England, Scotland, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania and South Africa.
